הרחק מכל מה שרגיל ושבוי בדפוסים, נשות העיירה יודעות לעשות הכל. הן עובדות בשדות על טרקטורים ענקיים, נוהגות בטנדר רתום לנגרר מלא סוסים, הן מתקנות נזילות בצנרת, מבריגות ,קודחות , לוכדות נחשים, מרימות סלעים וקופצות ראש לנהר....💦
הן לא מעוניינות להיות תלויות באף אחד, הן לא מחכות לגבר "שיציל" אותן ובאופן כללי אין מספיק בעלי מקצוע בעיירה ועד שיגיע מישהו מבחוץ עדיף כבר לדעת לתקן לבד.

ביום האב, שנחגג במאי, הכלה שלנו קנתה לרוני ברז מטבח משוכלל. חלק מהמתנה היה שהיא עצמה התקינה אותו. כן...ככה, מתחת לכיור עם מברגים וכזה....
"Happy Father's day"
היא אמרה בחיוך רחב כשבכיור התנוסס לו הברז החדש.
באחד החורפים נגמר לנו הגז במיכל. הגז משמש לבישול, חימום הסלון, מים חמים ולמייבש כביסה.
היה חורף קשוח והדרך היחידה לעיירה נחסמה בסלעים שהתגלגלו מההרים, שלג ונחלים שעלו על גדותיהם. האינטרנט קרס וחברת הגז הצטערה מאוד הם לא יכולים לספק לנו גז בימים הקרובים. אלליי....מה עושים???😱
הבנים היו בחופשה במקסיקו אבל כלתי הכל יכולה חיברה אותי ממקסיקו לאמא שלה.
"אל תדאגי, היא יודעת מה לעשות". טאם טאדם אמא שלה הגיעה. בלונדינית חתיכית קפצה מהטנדר עם בלון גז חלופי, הופהופ עשתה מעקף ממיכל הגז המקורי ישר לבית. הללויה .
"זה יספיק לכם לשבוע" היא אמרה "ואז חברת הגז כבר תגיע"....לפני שהיא הלכה היא התכופפה פתאום והסתכלה מתחת לאוטו שלנו." יש לכם פנצ'ר! בואו נחליף גלגל"....
"לא, לא תודה, נסתדר"
"איזה פאדיחה" רוני אמר....
בבוקר אביבי אחד פרצו כמה פרות את הגדר המפרידה בין החצר שלנו לשדות. לחרדתי הפרות התקדמו היישר לגן הירק שלי ...אווייי לא!!! התקשרתי מיד לשכן "הפרות שלך!!!! "
"אוקיי אני שולח מישהו " הוא ענה מיד.
10 דקות אחרי זה השער נפתח, קאובואית עם כובע מגפיים וכל השאבנג, בלווית שלושה כלבי רועים נכנסה בביטחון מלא ישר אל גן הירק שלי. שתי שריקות עזות והכלבים איגפו במקצועיות את הפרות והובילו אותן חזרה לשדה. היא תיקנה צ'יק צ'אק את הגדר ונעלמה.
הכירו את קבוצת כדורגל נשים שלנו. "המלכות"👑
תראו אותן. איזה תותחיות:
כולי השראה מחברה שלי שגרה לבדה בהרים. מרחק של חצי שעה אל כלום ושום מקום.... היא בנתה לה שם במו ידיה בית חלומות מהמם ביופיו , התקינה פאנלים סולריים וחיברה את המעיין שלה עם מערכת השקיה לגן הירק היפה ביותר שראיתי בחיי.
אבל...יש גם נחשים. ראטל סנייק. הם מסוכנים מאוד. אז היא לוכדת אותם אחד אחד, מכניסה לדלי, מעמיסה על הטנדר ונוסעת חצי שעה לשחרר אותם הרחק בטבע....כי זה מזל רע מאוד וקארמה מחרידה להרוג נחש....רק אומרת....
זה הזכיר לי את מחזמר משנות ה 40 "אנני אוקלי אשת לפידות" עם השיר

אז אני שמה לכם אותו פה שתהנו מקלאסיקה משובחת.
מה למדתי מזה?
קודם כל אותגרתי...למה שאני אהייה תלויה במישהו אחר? למדתי לרכב על טרקטור, לחבר מערכת השקייה, להדליק אש, לעבוד עם גרין משין , להבריג במברגה.
גיליתי שאני ממש חזקה. אני יכולה לסחוב, להרים, לדחוף לחפור.... וככל שאני עושה את זה יותר אני נהיית יותר חזקה. ואיזה כיף זה להיות מסוגלת. להרחיב את גבולות העצמאות, להסתדר לבד.
אבל היי...להחליף גלגל עם פנצר על אם הדרך ביום חורף גשום...????
ובכן....הרמתי יד עצרה משאית. גבר חסון עשה את זה בשבילי בשמחה.
"אחרי הכל לא נולדתי פה", הרגעתי את עצמי, החזקה והכל יכולה, "ונשים הן לא רק חזקות הן גם חכמות"....
לסיום אני מסירה את הכובע בגאווה ובכבוד לטייסות הישראליות שטסו לאירן במלחמה האחרונה.

Girl Power

On Father's Day, celebrated in May, our daughter-in-law bought Roni a fancy kitchen faucet. Part of the gift? She installed it herself. Yes… under the sink, with screwdrivers and all that.“Happy Father’s Day,”she said with a big grin as the shiny new faucet gleamed over the sink.

One winter, we ran out of Propane used for cooking, heating the living room, hot water, and the dryer .It was a brutal winter. The only road into town was blocked by fallen rocks, snow, and flooded creeks. The internet was down and the gas company was very sorry—they couldn't deliver propane for the next few days. What do we do? 😱
The boys were on vacation in Mexico, but my daughter-in-law—the ultimate doer—connected me from Mexico to her mom.“Don’t worry, she knows what to do.”Ta-da! Her mom arrived. A stunning blonde jumped out of the truck with a backup propane tank .In no time, she rerouted the propane straight into the house. Hallelujah.
"This’ll last you a week,” she said, “and by then the company should come.”Before leaving, she suddenly bent down and peeked under our car. “You’ve got a flat tire! Let’s change it.”“No, no thanks—we’ll manage,”Roni muttered, “What an embarrassment...”

One spring morning, a few cows broke through the fence between our yard and the fields. To my horror, they headed straight for my vegetable garden... Oh no!!!I called the neighbor, “Your cows!!!”“Okay, I’m sending someone right away,” he said.
Ten minutes later, the gate opened. A cowgirl in a cowboy hat and boots entered confidently with three herding dogs straight into my garden.Two sharp whistles and the dogs professionally rounded up the cows and guided them back to the field.She quickly fixed the fence and
disappear.

I am inspire by my friend who lives alone in the mountains.Half an hour away from anywhere.She built a dreamy, gorgeous home there with her own two hands, installed solar panels, and connected a spring to an irrigation system for the most beautiful vegetable garden I’ve ever seen.But… there are snakes. Rattlesnakes. Very dangerous .So she catches them one by one, puts them in a bucket, loads them into her truck, and drives half an hour to release them deep in the wild...Because killing a snake brings very bad luck and terrible karma… just saying.

What did I learn from all this?
First of all, I was challenged... Why should I depend on anyone else?I learned how to drive a tractor, connect irrigation, light a fire, use a drill.
I discovered I’m really strong. I can carry, lift, push, dig…And the more I do it, the stronger I get.And it feels amazing to be capable. To stretch the boundaries of independence, to manage on your own.
But hey… changing a flat tire in the middle of a rainy winter road…???Well... I raised my hand and flagged down a truck.A strong man did it for me—happily.“After all, I wasn’t born here,” I reassured my strong, capable self,“And women aren’t just strong—they’re smart too.”
To end, I tip my hat with pride and respect to the Israeli female fighter pilots who flew to Iran in the recent war.
Unbelievable.
Nothing like it.
