רחוק מהכל הטבע שולט, לא האדם. גם אם האדם חושב שהוא שולט, הוא טועה.
אנחנו האורחים פה ואנחנו גם המיעוט אז אני נותנת כבוד לחיות ולחוקי הטבע.
אני לא מרגישה פחד משום בעל חיים. אני זהירה אבל לא פוחדת.
החיה שהכי מפחידה אותי היא האדם...
העמק שופע מים, עשב, פירות וטרף, כך שבדרך כלל אין לחיות סיבה אמיתית להתקרב לבתים שלנו.
בכל זאת כל לילה מתרחש פה ספארי לילה משוגע ואת החתול השמנמן והמפונק שלנו(העונה לשם חתולי) אנחנו מכניסים הביתה כי פעם נשך אותו שועל באחוריו. (חוץ מזה שהוא מעדיף בלילה לראות סדרות ב Netflix ולא להיות חלק מ National geographic)
בקיץ הקודם עץ השזיפים שלי היה מפוצץ פרי בשל. זה שזיפי שגיב הטעימים שאפשר להכין מהם ריבת פובידל מהממת. אמרתי לרוני: "מחר על הבוקר אנחנו קוטפים את כל השזיפים ומכינים ריבות". בבוקר לא היה אפילו שזיף אחד, לא על העץ ולא על האדמה. דב אכל הכל בין לילה בלי להתבלבל.
אז רגע!!!! היה לי בלילה דב בחצר ????😨🫣
עם רדת החשכה החיות יוצאות לחפש טרף, או יורדות לנהר לשתות.
לילה ערפילי וגשום אחד בדרך חזרה לעיירה התנגשנו באייל ענק. הוא המשיך לרוץ ולנו נשבר כל הפרונט של האוטו. מים נשפכו מהרדיאטור, כל הנורות נדלקו ,....עכשיו לך תחכה שמישהו יעבור ויחלץ אותך כי כמובן לפי חוקי מרפי בדיוק באיזור הזה אין קליטה....
אחרי 20 דקות של תפילות, שבועות ולחשים עצרה משאית גדולה, יצא ברנש מהסרטים עם זקן עד הפופיק, שפם נדיר וכובע בוקרים. בלי הרבה דיבורים חיבר אותנו לשרשרת וגרר אותנו למוסך...

זה מה שאני ראיתי במו עיני:
איילות, דישונים(elk), חזירי בר, שועלים, דובים, בואשים, דביבונים, חתולי בר(bobcat), תנים, ינשופים, נחשים, נשרים, בזים.
יש גם פומה (mountain lion) שעוד לא זכיתי לראות ויש האומרים זאבים.
שלא לדבר על אינספור ציפורים, פרפרים, וחרקים.
את רוב התמונות אני צילמתי, אבל חלק מהן צולמו ע"י חברים ובני משפחה ואני מודה להם ששתפו את זה איתי ואתכם.

Far from everything, nature rules—not humans. Even if humans think they are in control, they are mistaken. We are guests here, and we are also the minority. So, I respect the animals and the laws of nature.I don't feel fear toward any animal. I am cautious, but I am not afraid. The creature that scares me the most is... humans.
The valley is abundant with water, grass, fruit, and prey, so usually, the animals have no real reason to come near our homes.
Still, every night, a wild nighttime safari takes place here. And our chubby, spoiled cat (who goes by the name Chatuli) stays indoors because a fox once bit him on the backside. (Besides, at night, he prefers watching Netflix rather than being part of National Geographic.)
Last summer, my plum tree was bursting with ripe fruit. These were delicious prune , perfect for making an amazing Povidal jam.
I told Roni, "Tomorrow morning, we'll pick all the plums and make jam." By morning, there wasn’t a single plum left—neither on the tree nor on the ground. A bear had eaten everything overnight without hesitation.
Wait a second!!! Did I have a bear in my back yard last night?! 😨🫣
At dusk, the animals emerge to hunt or head down to the river to drink.
One foggy, rainy night, on the way back to town, we collided with a giant Deer . It kept running, but the front of our car was completely wrecked. Water poured from the radiator, all the warning lights turned on… and, of course, according to Murphy’s Law, there was no cell reception in this area. After 20 minutes of prayers, swearing, and spells, a big truck finally stopped. Out stepped a movie-like character—a guy with a beard down to his belly, an impressive mustache, and a cowboy hat. Without many words, he hooked us up to a chain and towed us to the mechanic.
What I have personally seen with my own eyes:
Deer, elk, wild boars, foxes, bears, skunks, raccoons, bobcats, jackals, owls, snakes, vultures, falcons. There are also mountain lions (which I have yet to see), and some say there are wolves. Not to mention countless birds, butterflies, and insects.
Most of the photos were taken by me, but some were taken by friends and family—I thank them for sharing these moments with me and with you.
